EDIT: Sold!!! Thanks for your interest.

---original post---

Just transferred the lifetime service to a new Series3. This TiVo has a 2nd hard drive added, so it has lots of recording space. I'll have to boot it up to check the actual capacity. 120 hours, maybe??

I was wondering if there's anyone out there who has no need for networking features who wants a TiVo that will not require a fee for a year. After that, it might be possible to set it up to record manually... although I admit that I've never done that with a TiVo, so I'm not sure how that works.

Not sure how much to ask... $100 plus shipping, maybe?

The only issue with that is that the 1 year of free service is NOT transferable, so whomever buys it can't put the box in their name until after the year is up.

Have you seen your Lifetime show up on your S3? I transferred, but have yet to see the Lifetime applied to my account - it's still showing 'Account in Good Standing', but not Lifetime.

Since an S1 doesn't have any multi-room viewing or TiVo-To-Go features, it doesn't really matter whose account it shows up in. I just have to remember to cancel service to it during the last month so that my credit card isn't charged at the end of the year.

The guy on the phone said the S3 is officially "lifetime" now, but that it won't show up that way in Manage My Account for 60 days.

I figured that an S1 would be nice for someone who only wants one TiVo and doesn't plan to try to offload shows to a PC. A good "intro" machine for people who aren't too picky about high-end features. :)

OK, problem solved -- Havana Brown's kid just bought it from me. Apparently the lure of over 100 hours of recording capacity and a year without fees were enough to convince him. And HB is trying to convince him to swap TiVos with her so that she can have the one with the larger capacity. :D

Anyway, in a year they'll have to decide what to do with it, I guess. For now, they're set. :)
