View Full Version : FYI - Forum Rules and Guidelines updated
Just to let you know, I upgraded the rules and guidelines to add information about the infraction and reputation systems.
Also, I did add one rule that came as a result of conferring with the other admins. We have decided that we are requiring that any avatars used be of a picture of the member, like how it had been at TCF.

Note that I didn't say their member. :wackywink:

I would like a judgement call on my avatar, which is a picture of me with the addition of the horns (which really were glued to my head) and the flames (photoshopped by Indy).
Because I like the "gotta be you" avatar rule, I'm happy with a decision either way. Just asking.
I have absolutely no problem with stylized avatars like yours. If it gets to the point where the person's face is obscured beyond recognition, that'd be getting away from the intent.
The key goal would be that if you were at an MSq meet, would you be likely to recognize the person from their avatar.

Thunder.Stolen.
65x65 is pretty small. I remember having a heck of a time getting a Twins logo down to 80x80...
Oh, guess since I am usually the one behind the camera, I should have any room to whine, as the pice of me are few and far between...
:)
I like the idea. Coo!

Personally I prefer the smaller avatar.
However, as a lot of TCR peeps have got a larger avatar it could be one of those technical niggles that make it difficult for some people to migrate from TCR to MSq.
If the smaller avatar is a deliberate choice rather than a default setting perhaps a short term sticky should be set up in which volunteers could offer their services to the non photochop people to resize their avatars.
The default avatar size is 65x65 (same as TCF). Subscribers, however, get an avatar size of 100x100.

I am taking this to mean that work safe avatars are expected as well.

Gives a whole new meaning to membership drives...

The question is whether that's a good thing or not.
I guess it depends on the particular avatar.

Perhaps some people need to submit samples?
Oh... this discussion is definitely on the wrong forum... :D
