Anybody else watching the Lost Rom mini-series? I've heard good things about it and it has an interesting premise.

It started last night night, Right? I set a season pass and I can't wait to see it.
It was okay, but a bit drawn out. I FF'd through some of the more boring parts.
I like the premise, but the execution leaves something to be desired.

Goddamnit. I put a new hard drive in my failing SD TiVo over the weekend, but I guess it's the hardware and not the drive. My box froze last night during the 40th anniversary of the Grinch and didn't catch part 2 of Lost Room.
No biggie, I'll catch the rerun. It's Sci-Fi, they'll play it a dozen more times.
But noooooo! It freezes again 39 minutes into it, just as the first installment was getting interesting.
There's the full 3 installment marathon on Sunday. I'll be recording that on my HD box.
Ugh. Don't bother. Terrible ending.

Well, it's a Sci-Fi original, so that was a foregone conclusion. :coolsmiley:

True, but still, I was hoping for at least some form of explanation. They didn't even try to explain anything. Annoying.

I've heard romors that this is a backdoor pilot, so the left things open to make a series set in this world.
Besides, the story was about his quest to get his daughter back, not to explain the cause of The Event.
The strange thing about the very end of the series was:When the door opened, the key was right on the floor where Joe dropped it. Unless that was its original location, I have to wonder whether Joe, now as an object, is able to manipulate the objects in the room and move them to different locations. If so, I wonder if he could put some sort of special vault into the room into which he could put all the objects, much like Friday the 13th.

Yes, and Sci-Fi miniseries have a history of being backdoor pilots like this, so I really shouldn't be so surprised. After all, that was my third monocle this week!
Marc:
It's entirely possible that the key has no fixed place in the room, it being a key to the room and what have you. If they do series-ify it, the obvious goal would be for him to find and gather all the objects and return them to the room, to undo the event or whatever the goal is of that. There's really no other reason for the objects to revert to a fixed position on a reset except that they "belong" there for whatever reason. It really didn't come up much in the miniseries except as a way to crack the safe.
What I kept wanting to see was him to smash the window open and climb out, to see where he'd end up. Seems like an obvious move to me.
I usually hate these sorts of stories but this one really kept me riveted. Maybe it was just that I looove me some Peter Krause, though. :)

We are enjoying this although we have only watched the first 2 eps so far.
I think it would make an interesting series
I'm really hoping for a series. Don't know if they could get Julianna Margulies, or Kevin Pollack, though. :(
