Cancelled my XM a few months back and I just got around to getting this together.

one XM Nexus 50 Portable player -- I have the home and the car kits. The only parts missing are the headphones (standard ones will work, just can't find them anywhere) and the car mount snapped when I tried to take it off of my dash.

$30 shipped.

Does teh Nexus 50 receive XM when undocked?

nope. Uses one of those mini XM tuner thingy's -- when it's undocked it will playback recorded XM and MP3s

I really wish they'd made them like my Airware that can undock and be used like a walkman...

They did, but they call them Inno's and they cost more.

I love my Inno. :D

I thought that the MyFi also had that capability. Its recording modes were far less useful (just block recording, not per-track), but I seem to recall that it worked with a clip-on antenna to receive XM signals while undocked. I think it also had a built-in antenna, but I'm not as positive about that.

It does. I have the Pioneer AirWare and I can clip it into the included holster, clip it on my belt, and listen to Live XM while I'm mowing the lawn. I was hoping that this unit would let me do that but be a little smaller when docked in my car, but that seems not to be the case. I really love my AirWare, I was just hoping for the same functionality with a smaller package.

I also saw that it docks sideways, so that it would actually use more room side-to-side on a dash mount.
