For the first time in my life, we did not put up a Christmas tree. We didn't hang on decoration, not even a stocking. We have presents scattered around the house, but nothing is wrapped yet. Are we horrible?

Here's hoping for many more years of the same!
A toast, to no damned decorations!

I'd say no, it's not horrible. It sounds like you're planning on celbrating Christmas.
Do the decorations and tree really add a great deal? Put on some music and light a fire (if you have a fireplace).

Just seems odd.... The weather is playing a part in it I think. It is sunny and 50+ degrees outside, no chance of a white Christmas.

Because of our new kitten, we didn't put up a tree this year either
Some years it does seem more festive than others though..

Bought Tree last weekend.* Kids decorated it last night w/ Grandparents (wife + I went out for dinner). Not entirely decorated, Not really 'Straight', Don't really Care.
*Sad -Eh? Can go out side and see a few million pine trees in every direction and we BUY a dang tree.

I hope not, because we are the same way.

Since we got Lucky we don't put up a tree because whether it's real or not he tries to eat it. Cleo would probably climb it, then eat it.
Couldn't put up lights outside since I had my tendinitis just after Thanksgiving, by the time it cleared up the weather went bad.
I suppose if I was in the mood I would have found a way, but I'm not, so I didn't.

I haven't had a tree in many years. Dirty gets confused and leaves "presents" under the tree.

Hate to break it to you, babe, but if she didn't, I would.

Ew.
That "action shot" would make a funny photo card for the next holiday season.

I'm not feeling it much this year either. The weather is certainly a contributing factor. Damned global warming. There have been some goofy, stupid family issues that always come up around this time of year that I'm starting to get tired of. I like the time of year, but as I get older it seems to be less and less exciting.

It's definitely odd when it's Christmas and the kids are playing outside without jackets on.

I've never owned a christmas tree and haven't decorated one since I left the parents house to be on my own 10 or so years ago. Its always seemed like too much of a bother to me. Put it up, take it down. I have to do that with laundry and dishes, why add another task to the list?
My Mom is coming into town and staying at my house for a week. I'm not looking forward to sharing my space with her. As much as she tries not to be, she's critical of far too many things I choose or do. We're not even talking about things that matter, but rather how the dishes my dishes are sorted in my cabinets, or that the drapes really don't go with the room. Mom, I know the drapes don't go with the room. I need a WIFE to fix that for me. ;) ...oh yeah, and how I'm 30 and not married.
I love Christmas, but I hate decorating. I only have a tree on the years that we are having a Christmas or New Years party...so no tree this year. We spend every Christmas at my parents, though, and my mom's house is always decorated to the hilt--so my Christmas spirit always kicks into overdrive when I get here.

All the presents were opened yesterday and with the exception of a boring dinner at my Aunt's tommorrow it's all over which is ok by me as I wasn't interested at all.

My wife and kids put our tree up weeks ago, we watched all the Christmas movies we have on DVD (Nightmare before Christmas, Miracle on 34th Street (both versions), A Christmas Story, Charlie Brown Christmas, Scrooge, Scrooged, Grinch, I think that's all of them) but I'm just not getting into it this year either.
Bah! Humbug!

You got a gay tree? Won't someone please think of the children! :D
It's an odd Christmas for us. This freak warm snap we've got doesn't help, but I think mainly it's the changes to family. Everybody pretty much decided that this will be the first year for Christmas just for "the children"--but Kaylee is too young to realize what's going on, my niece is probably just shy of the age where she'd get excited, and we've got some other nieces or nephews "on the way". So, it's for the kids, but the kids are just sitting around drooling.
No real complaints, though--it's different, but being able to spend the entire weekend playing with Kaylee is great, no matter what the occasion.
Next year, though, should be a freakin' blast.

I've been the same way - just not feeling it this year. I think it's due to unseasonably warm weather/lack of snow. I will say, though, that it gave me a warm, fuzzy feeling seeing our 2 y/o get excited opening her presents this year. :)
I told Mark that I plan to take down all the decorations - including the tree - while he's at work tomorrow. Surprisingly, he's OK with that.

Kar74 is my 12-year-younger twin this year. It's not just christmas... it's ... more than that.

I wasn't feeling it at ALL this year. And the holiday kind of followed suit. Having a wedding and being broke due to it just kind of cramped it-no shopping yet, nothing.

we don't put up a tree cause we have cats and I don't want to come in to find that the cats have knocked it over. But the wife is getting kinda ready to start having one. Guess I need to drill it to the floor and not glass balls on the tree. but then there is the no money problem. its kinda depressing to have a tree and not have gifts under it.
