The only christmas music I can tolerate are the three Ho-Ho-Hoey albums by Gary Hoey. All the classics, done as electric guitar instrumentals. Good stuff. :)

I like the funny/less serious Christmas songs. Stuff like "Walking 'round in Women's Underwear" and "Santa Darlin'" and "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer". :)

Special XMas on XM (or DirecTV) is for you, then. I think they end its seasonal run here in the next day or two.

The soundtrack to "The Muppet Christmas Carol" and we have the Time-Life Christmas collection.
Ones I loathe? My wife has the Partridge Family Christmas.

We were kind of diggin' the Manheim Steam Roller this year. Don't know which particular song is a favorite, but definately a good change-up from 'Traditional' music...

I've been listening to XM's various Christmas channels and picked up all kinds of great new Christmas songs. It's been very interesting.

I actually don't care for the goofy Christmas songs. I mean, some of them are funny once, but I just don't feel the need to hear them again. I also don't care for the ones that intentionally grab your heartstrings and yank really hard for 3 minutes straight, like the freakin' Christmas shoes song.
My favorites are modern artists doing Christmas classics.

oh my - I heard the worst christmas song of all time while on hold this afternoon. I don't know exactly what it was but it was very singer songwriter-ish and told in a narrative about going to the mall or something - just horrible.

I'll second that. My kids, much to the dismay of my wife, sing "Dead Dead Dead" without even being prompted.

I can't hear Carol of the Bells anymore without wanting to add "Ding-Dong, M'Key" in the fourth line.:2funny:
