View Full Version : What I want on the Xbox 360

Most of my entertainment on the Xbox 360 is coming from the Xbox Live Arcade. It won't be too much longer before I get my 24 hour achievement for Zuma.

I would love to see a Live trivia game come down the road. If it would interact with NTN, that'd be even better.

An NTN trivia style game would so rock on Live!!!

Didn't MS just release there programming code for the 360? Shouldn't one of you programmers already be working on this?;)

What is NTN?

What is NTN?

It's the sister network to TNT.

What is NTN?

National Trivia Network (http://www.ntn.com/) - now called "Buzztime" - It's usually found in bars and restaurants. There are small consoles where customers can play along at their tables. After each game, the system displays all the players in the bar and their rankings along with the top national player(s). It's a multiple choice question game where you get more points for answering correctly faster.

Buzztime/NTN rules. I'm up to 250,300 points at my local bar now. Only been playing a few months though.

However, since I only signed up on their website recently, it only shows the stats of games I've played since I signed up. That is kind of annoying. http://players.buzztime.com/bt_profile.php?id=50781

The only problem I see in having a trivia game on Live which was like NTN would be that people would just cheat by Googling and such, to increase their rank or whatever. The advantage of having it in bars and restaurants is that cheating is more difficult to accomplish.

Cool, thanks.

I've seen that at TGIF. :)

TGIF is dropping Buzztime at all locations. Just read that today on the buzztime forums, actually.

My Buzztime profile (http://players.buzztime.com/bt_profile.php?pid=224060) doesn't show my few local wins. :(

It only shows data for the last 180 days. It also says that you haven't played since April. QED.

Ah. That page doesn't mention that it's only 180 days worth of data, so I thought it was just missing.

Click the Trivia tab then read the fine print at the bottom.

NTN would be cool, but I really can't wait until Guitar Hero 2 comes out for the 360, relieving any PS2 envy.

Yes, because jumping around like an idiot is always entertaining. ;)

I kinda want to go up to those guys and just say "Dude, the fake guitar controller does not make you look cool. Sorry."

I have played it a few times at a friends house- I like the songs and the rhythm of the game. As a real guitar player, I have to admit I feel a little lame during whammys and star power. :D For the most part, I just sit there and jam.

Now, when I am alone in the privacy of my own house...I don't want to know what's gonna happen.

Hoo boy! Xbox360 viruses coming soon.

Or am I being too paranoid?

Quite paranoid. From what I can tell from this kit, it creates code that can only be executed on another Xbox 360 that also has the same XNA kit installed. Plus, you have to run it from a locally PC; you can't give copies of your software away on CD or memory cards.

Yes, yes, yes...

I don't know why this hasn't come out already!

An online trivia/gameshow type game would be perfect for Live, and would attract the casual gamer also!

Sony owns the rights to Wheel of Fortune/Jeopardy...I wonder if we'll ever see these on the PS3's network.

I'd like to see more card games. Something like Mille Borne. I think I get the greatest enjoyment by just chatting with my TC Peeps while playing Spades or Uno. Both games are great but I'd like a little variety.

There are a few obscure (to me anyways) board games coming:

Microsoft has announced plans to port European tabletop favorites like The Settlers of Catan, Carcassonne and Alhambra to Xbox Live Arcade. Price details and release dates have not been revealed, but the Catan port is likely to appear first as MSN Games has been hosting an online version (http://joystiq.com/2004/12/22/settlers-of-catan-online/) of the German board game for nearly two years.

but you would think with the success of Uno, more card games would have to be on the way.

I'd love Carcassonne or Metro on XBL. But Milles Borne and lots of other card games would work well (and can't be that hard to develop). I'd love to see Gloom (http://www.atlas-games.com/product_tables/AG1250.php) too but I think I'm probably the only one on that front... :D
