I took this story as a positive - I'd like to see the standard for female beauty shift further away from heroin thin chic.

A commercial for Apoliva, an assortment of personal care products for Apotoket, featuring Swedish supermodel Adina Fohlin has made a major splash, although not quite the one that the Swedish pharmacy chain was hoping for. Rather than running out to purchase Apoliva products, viewers are running scared.
The 30-second ad spot, set to the haunting tones of a Swedish folk song, depicts a close-up of a rather sullen and emaciated Fohlin standing in the snow, rain and sun. The clip ends with the tagline, “Apoliva – for Swedish conditions”.

Ok, if anyone is actually scared of her or the commercial they are taking more and better drugs than I am. I think it's a decent commercial.
Also, I'd hit it like Reggie in October. :D

So you'd hit her with a baseball bat, with enough force that she lands 450 feet away? :p

Wow. I don't see what they find scary about her or the commercial at all.
Nor do I think she's "emaciated" - she's skinny, but not "emaciated" skinny. There are a LOT of models that can be described that way, but based on the commercial, she doesn't look to be among them.

For some reason the feel of the commercial and the look of the model brings to mind the girl from the movie "The Ring."
So yeah, I side with the "not a good image for cosmetics" side of the debate.

I have searched for full-body pictures of her, and I declare her to be not emaciated.
Apotoket seems to be the Swedish equivalent of Walgreens or CVS...can you imagine them running a commercial like this?

Huh??
Hmm, I swear I found some photos where she looked a little less in need of a smorgasbord.
(Even still, I've seen thinner.)

She isn't scary, but this part of the picture looks like it could easily be from a picture of a dude wearing a dress. I've seen dudes look a lot more shapely in a dress.

Weird, that's exactly what I was thinking, too.
Didn't scare me, but I don't plan on buying their cosmetics either. Commercial Fail?
