PLANO, Texas (http://www.mainsquare.org/#), Aug. 11 (UPI) -- Merlyn Mantle, the widow of baseball great Mickey Mantle (http://www.upi.com/topic/Mickey_Mantle/), has died in Plano, Texas, at age 77 from Alzheimer's disease, a family spokesman said.
Mantle died Monday at a hospice facility, spokesman Marty Appel said.

alzheimer's disease is horrible, my great aunt has it and she's a shell of her former self. sad to see that happen to Mrs. Mantle.
