We went to see Rifftrax Live -- Plan 9 From Outer Space this evening.

I haven't laughed so hard in I don't know how long.

If Rifftrax does another live simulcast like that, I'll be buying tickets as soon as humanly possible. All 3 of the boys went with us, and they thought it was hilarious. HIGHLY recommend.

Sorry, Fort Worth.

Sorry, Fort Worth.Holy crap. I saw this tonight as well and had the exact same reaction!!

And if you get a chance, DEFINITELY go see Rifftrax Live. I laughed so hard I had tears rolling down my face.

Indeed. For the lazy or uninitiated, RiffTrax consists of three of the MST3K guys: Mike, the voice of Tom Servo, and the second voice of Crow. They are still on fire, and seeing it live and in a full theater really took it to another level.

It's the second voice of Tom Servo as well (but his original voice was only around for the first national season, which Comedy Central stopped rerunning after a certain point).

I didn't go to the event last night -- among other things, I have to admit that I like the "other guys," Cinematic Titanic, better -- but having read a bunch of positive reviews, I'm definitely regretting my decision.

Interestingly enough, I "obtained" a few Cinematic Titanic titles, just to check them out... I couldn't get through more than about a half hour of any of them before turning them both off, bored and completely unamused. I've never done that with a Rifftrax or an MST3K.

According to the Rifftrax Facebook page the Aug 20 Live event will be rebroadcast in theaters soon. So if you missed it you'll get a chance to see it. I'm tempted to see it again.

Crap, that is a Thursday. We can't do Thursdays, since the kid needs a ride to and from his college class.
