Sarah Palin to appear on 'Oprah', Nov 16th. - 10-23-2009, 07:59 PM

Gentlemen, start your TiVos.

http://blogs.suntimes.com/oprah/2009...in_novemb.html

I wonder if I need to set a manual recording, or if my auto-record wishlist for "train wreck" is going to pick this up?

I am sure it will be all fluff and no substance... Oprah may be an Obama fan, but she loves her money more and I would guess that a lot of Oprah's audience is a fan of Palins.

What? It's no more nutty than how McCain did it.

I'll set a manual recording for 30 minutes.

I can't say I watch many Oprah interviews. The few I have, Oprah comes across as likable and works to identify with her guest with honesty, but also mildy calls them out when they're not being fully truthful.

So what's this interview going to be like? I doubt Oprah is going to let Palin speak for 30 minutes about things that are blatently untrue.

I just hope Oprah plays the clip of Palin's farewell speech where she says to the media, "will ya stop making things up?", and then turn to Palin and ask, "ummmm... like what?"

My PVR has a limit on the number of "by golly" and "gosh darn"s before it thinks whats on the screen is a commercial and skips it.

I wouldn't.

Well, maybe that day a lot of Oprah's audience will be fans of Palin's.

I agree with pseudo.

A bigger financial risk was backing Obama for president. She potentially could have turned off 50% of her viewing audience. It would have been even worse if Obama had lost.

I lasted 27 minutes. When she called Katie Couric "the perky one" I couldn't take it anymore.

You lasted longer than I did, but from what I saw, it was pretty much a puff piece.

So no different from her campaign then.

I don't think she took much down side from that because candidate Obama was black, from Chicago and his campaign was so historic. Now, if she made a habit of that kind of involvement it could effect her audience

Just saw the interview, it was very softball, but I think she came off looking better than she did in the campaign. Of course, she couldn't look much worse, could she?

I guess Tina Fey is going to ride Sarahs coattails for the rest of her life, since w/o Sarah Palin, she would be just a second rate comedian

From Wikipedia:

Quote:
She has received seven Emmy Awards, three Golden Globe Awards, three Screen Actors Guild Awards, and four Writers Guild of America Awards.
Quote:
In 2004, Fey made her film debut as writer and co-star of the teen comedy Mean Girls. In 2008, she starred in the comedy film Baby Mama, alongside Amy Poehler. In 2009, Fey won an Emmy Award for her satirical portrayal of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin in a guest appearance on SNL.

Yeah, she's a "second rate comedian". I guess compared to Palin, huh? Please note that most, if not all of these awards were prior to Divine Sarah.

She's more than just the star, she's the creator of the show.

Palin, on the other hand, is a third-rate politician and a fourth-rate author.

And that's just about as much troll-chow as I'm willing to hand out.

Sadly, I can't take credit for it. The "Purina Troll Chow" concept goes back for as long as I can remember being on the 'net.
